On the Mac, you’re pretty spoilt when it comes to video editing. In addition to Final Cut Pro, there is iMovie for the home user (which is me). Finding a good replacement for Linux, especially in terms of ease of use, is frankly difficult.

I edited my last family holiday film with Kdenlive and my Tuxedo laptop with AMD Ryzen made a lot of fan noise. But once you’ve got used to using it, it’s surprisingly quick and easy. As with many Linux programmes, there are so many settings that you can get lost in them. The programme is very stable under Fedora.

Alternatives?

I personally don’t like the Openshot interface. , Pitivi couldn’t do enough and Davinci Resolve is not open source.
